Sacramento – Old Town Sacramento includes the California State Railroad Museum, the best railroad museum in North America, and the Crocker Art Museum. Sutter’s Fort is nearby as well.
Side Trips – World famous Napa Valley (near Sonoma on map) is an hour (70 mi) east from Sacramento. There you can do exceptional wine tours. San Francisco is about 1½ hours (90 mi) southeast of Sacramento. Beautiful Lake Tahoe and Reno lie about 2h (120 mi) northeast of Sacramento. Historic Gold Country lies between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe. Finally, Yosemite National Park is about a 6h (170 mi) drive southeast of Sacramento.
